ESTUDOS COMPARATIVOS SÔBRE A AÇÃO DO CLORIDRATO DE TIAMINA E DO IÔDO-BISMUTATO DE TIAMINA NO ORGANISMO ANIMAL

Abstract

Experiments were made on rats with an insoluble form of vitamin B1 (iodobismuthate o f thiamine) the therapeutic effect o f which was compared with that of thiamine hydrochloride. Thiamine in this form did not Jose its specific therapeutics effect. The duration of the therapeutic effect of iodo-bismuthate of thiamine was longer than that of the thiamine hydrochloride. The differences found were constant and proportional to the doses and allow us to conclude that the iodo-bismuthate of thiamine has, comparatively to the thiamine hydrochloride, a slower absortion rate and a longer therapeutic effect.
