SÔBRE A ARTERITI: PULMONAR ESQUISTOSOMÓTICA (REVTSÃO DA LlTERATURA E APRESENTAÇÃO DE TRÊS CASOS, DOS QUAlS UM COMPROVADO PELA NECRÓPSIA

Abstract

In the first part of this paper the authors make a complete rev1s10n of the cardio-vascular form of Manson's schistosomiasis, making use of ali the bibliography they were able to consult. Data about what there is in literatture on the clinical, radiological and pathological aspects are given on the chronic "cor pulmonale" due to Schistosoma mansoni, also the most important references on contributions made by laboratory and electrocardiographic studies. After this part the authors treat the pathogenesis of the process in with reference to the various opinions given in the text. In the part dealing with the diagn.osis, the authors discuss in detail the question of a differential diagnosis. Finally the authors comment on the course, prognosis and treatment, giving their own views on this subject. In the second part of the paper the authors present three cases making comments on them. One of them is accompanied by necroscopic data, the others two are profusely illustrated with clinicai documents. A bibliographical list is given at the end.
