The author reports the results of observations on biology of sand-flies (Phlebotomus) made in an endemic region of American Leishmaniasis of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. These observations made in houses and its surroundings showed the presence of breeding-places of Phlebotomus intermcdius Lutz e Neiva, 1912 in piggeries. The author has also seen exemplares of that species feeding on domestic pigs, concluding that species is acquiring domestic habits in the refered region.Downloads
