Abstract

The Author analyses the actual situation in Brazil concerning the sanitary inspector giving some suggestions for the establishment of the profession. Principies relating to the position and functions of the sanitary inspector in public health organizations are discussed. Academic training is mentioned and special consideration is given to the problem of selection of personnel in Latin America.
