This article intends to reflect on the presence of war memories in Janela de Sônia, by Manuel Rui. These are memories that allow us to think about the approximation between the interdisciplinary fields of literature and psychology. Traumatic memories are evoked from the characters experiences. The plot takes place in Angola, in a scenario marked by wars for colonial independence, as well as post-colonial, notably civil wars, which are shaped as historical traumas that mark the lives of the characters. Authors such as Jeanne Marie Gagnebin and Márcio Seligmann-Silva sought for the theoretical basis for the analysis of the work.
