Abstract

In this work, the author the relevance of analytic models proposed by Vladimir Propp in “Morphology of the Folktales” of the Igbo traditional tales. Showing formerly some methodological criterion of Propp, examine the morphology of Igbo folktales, the presence of ethnographic elements, historiography and aesthetic, as well as, the efficiency of these models for the study of the oral narrative aspects.
