Abstract

Comparative study on the concepts of souls and spirits in Africa and the New World. Through cultural comparisons in documents relationship of the double soul complex in West Africa with similar components in the Americas. The African beliefs and rituals gradually synchronized through the European concepts of Christianism, have been conserved until the present in many parts of the Americas.
