Abstract

This work is related to an specific type of approach to the problem of possession and witchcraft in black African societies, giving way to place the question t a material and concrete level that transcends merely a religious of psychological focus. This approach involves the notion of a person like formulated in the frame of civilization values in Africa and the so called vital principle of animalist and spirituality in its configuration of double or shade.
