The objectives of this research are to categorize and analyze the podcasts developed in Tocantins, a state in the North region of Brazil, whose typology was elaborated from the survey carried out in 2021, as well as to verify if the produced media has characteristics of regional communication. The investigation is based on studies on regional and proximity communication, podcast, in addition to participant observation for data collection. In total, 83 podcasts were found produced in Tocantins and available on the main streaming platforms. For the analysis, four podcasts were selected referring to each typology related to the production technique. Then, the content analysis of the products was performed. The result indicated that the podcast from Tocantins has characteristics of regional communication, being used as a way to make content available on different platforms without using its own characteristics of podcasts.Downloads
