Meeting points between literary and environmental journalism

Environmental journalism and literary journalism have always sought to establish specific characteristics that distinguish them from the canons of traditional journalism, especially regarding their reporting and narrative techniques, as well as a professional ethic that distances them from hegemonic frameworks and challenges the concepts of objectivity, subjectivity, and impartiality. In this article, we explore the commonalities between these two segments of journalism, aiming to understand their intersections and the new potential they add when used in conjunction. Using a bibliographical review as our methodology, we identify points of contact between the two and conclude that literary and environmental journalism can be convergent. They can enhance public awareness of environmental issues and increase environmental activism through journalism.
