Abstract

This work consists of an analysis of art forms linked to the moving image in the current scenario. The study aims to analyze the process of convergence between experimental cinema and video art, in order to understand the aesthetic and political movements that culminated in this conjuncture. For this, a bibliographic review of influential authors on the subject and a theoretical-critical analysis of artists who produce within this perspective, such as André Parente and Luc Courchesne, were carried out. From the results of the research, it was possible to conclude that the division between experimental cinema and video art is anachronistic, since art is increasingly multimedia and that artists turn their attention to the problems of a computerized society.

    Susana Dobal é professora associada da Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Graduada em Jornalismo (UnB - 1988), em Língua Portuguesa e Literatura Brasileira (UnB -1989), tem especialização em Teoria da Literatura (UnB - 1992), mestrado em Fotografia (New York University/International Center of Photography - 1994), doutorado em História da Arte (City University of New York/Graduate Center - 2003) e pós-doutorado na Université Paris 8 (2009) e na Aix-Marseille Université (2014).
