Otoliths can be used as a reliable character for the assessment of individual age of S. brasiliensis from Brazilian coast (22ºS - 28ºS). Well defined growth rings are present and may be used as age indicators. The otolith growth parameters would seem to indicate that there are four distinct patterns along the areay suggesting that the species, in the region studied, is divided into distinct groups.Downloads
