The study of Lacistemataceae is part of the Project “Flora da Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brasil”. The family is represented in the area by only one species, Lacistema pubescens Mart. A description and an illustration, along with comments on the geographic distribution and ecological aspects of the species are provided.
