Abstract

From the analysis of the book Linhas Tortas, this present paper aims to study the cronicles written by Graciliano Ramos, who is usually known by his novels. It describes how the authorappropriates the genre, transforming it in a personal practice. The chronicle was chosen because of its hybrid characteristics in which can be observed the blending of elements such as: short stories elements, digression (cultural, political and every day life), literary critisism, with aspects of fait divers, which allow the study of the interrelation between literature and journalism.
