Incisions in Peruvian literature: the Second meeting of Peruvian storytellers in Cajamarca (1971)

This paper studies the Second meeting of Peruvian storytellers that took place in Cajamarca city in 1971 with the participation of writers and literary critics. The testimonies of the writers who took part in the event provide important information about their formative readings, the origin of their vocation for the literature and their creative process. The discussion agenda was organized through five round tables that covered the position of the writer in front of the Peruvian reality, the theatrical activity, the editorial and diffusion policy of the writers’ work, the narrative and the national identity, and the regional folklore. The topics covered offer an approximation to the estate of Peruvian literature from the second half of the 20th century and they have very valuable for the study of the short stories, the novels, the theater and the oral literature at the beginning of the 70s of the last century.
