Feminisms and the rewriting of the canon: the opposition between history and nature “Woman”

Where are the female philosophers? Why have the names of female philosophers been erased from the History of Philosophy? Against the backdrop of contemporary debates about what it means to be a “woman” and the historical, social and political creation of the difference between men and women in Western Judeo-Christian civilization, we propose a reflection on the canon of seventeenth-century European philosophy and the absence of female philosophers, recognized in their time, in these canonical storylines of the history of philosophy.
