Abstract

This article inserts itself in current critical theory’s scenario, characterized by a manifold of approaches self-proclaimed immanent critiques, through a comparative exam of the proposals of Rainer Forst and Rahel Jaeggi. For this purpose, some main features of critical theory are presented from to the contributions of Titus Stahl aiming to build a general critical model including some of its tasks. Then, according to this model, some challenges to immanent critique are presented, and the critical proposals of Rainer Forst and Rahel Jaeggi are analyzed as concurrent ways dealing with them. So, in the end, both proposals are compared in their potentials of social analysis and social transformation.
