Abstract

This paper briefly addresses some questions concerning the notion of history in the writings of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. It aims at verifying which is the position about the author assumes about the meaning of history, the way he conceives the relation between history and sociability, as well as the way they interfere in the notion of "natural man", or in the ontological qualities of men. Moreover, it is aims at outlining some influences from history in Rousseau's works, mainly in his writings about the importance of the study of history during the moral formation of young people.
