According to a well-known thesis defended by Philip Pettit, an agent is free as long as each of his actions is not only accessible but also non-dominated, in the sense that no one has the power to block access to such actions. Through counterexamples, this article seeks to demonstrate that the will to eliminate domination can diminish rather than enhance individual freedom.
