The present article deals with three works of art produced in the 1960s and 1970s by Brazilian artists Lygia Pape, Wanda Pimentel and Mexican artist Maria Eugenia Chellet. They all brought on stage the women’s body represented in different situations, where normative discourses of sexuality and processes of domination are highlighted. The main sources of research for this article are the artists testimonies, interviews, texts from exhibition catalogues, in addition to literature regarding female sexuality and the mechanisms for establishing domination relationships.
