Abstract

Machiavelli presents three effects resulting from dissension among moods constituent of any body politic: Principality Republic and License. The first two forms of government are classic and widely investigated by the author. The license, however, seems to be the corruption of the two other forms of government forms submitted. Treat it enables us to reflect on the issue of corruption. Machiavelli presents his concerns to his city, presenting the factions that have established in Florence. Guided by the model of mixed government of ancient Roman Republic the author offers us a great conceptual framework for thinking about the issue of corruption, an issue which seems to never lose its relevance.
