One of the most controversial aspects of the Homo Sacer project, which occupies latest steps of the thought of italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, was the establishment of the concentration camp as the fundamental political paradigm of the West. In this context, this article seeks to identify the centrality of the very specific use of the paradigmatic method implemented by Agamben, primarily drawn from the reflections of Michel Foucault. This understanding seems not only to touch one of the lines of force of the Agamben thought, but also to shed light on a perspective rarely addressed in the work of the author.
