Abstract

This article intends to show some similar aspects between Rousseau's aesthetics of the garden, as introduced in letter XI of the fourth part of the Nouvelle Héloïse, and the aesthetics of the novel (romance), as elaborated in the dialogued preface and put in practice in his work. This way, the author tries to bring to light the profound unity and coherence of Rousseau's thought.
