Practices and social representations among young people: a study on the importance of culture, family and religion matrices, in Santarém, Pará

ln a previous paper I analyzed the particularity of the brazilian cultural configuration, since approximately the years 70's (Setton 2004. I verified the strong coexistence of the different socializers matrixes in the cultural formation of our people, registering two temporalities very distinct. Temporalities still in course that can be characterized roughly by the concepts center/periphery, modern/traditional, urban/rural, lectured culture/ oral culture. In this sense I qualified the brazilian reality organized from a variety of cultural matrixes living with tenses symbolic relations. Dispositionals matrixes capable to orient patterns, practices and social representations sometimes coherent, sometimes heterogeneous. To develop this theoretical hypothesis I made a comparative research about the socialization process of youngsters citizens of Santarém -State of Para- Brazil and São Paulo-State of São Paulo- Brazil I intend to develop an interpretative analysis about the importance of the cultural matrixes familyreligion in order to observe the different and strategic arrangements of the reproduction of the social groups. In this paper I will emphasize the practices and representations about religion and family among high school youngsters from a public school and a private school in Santarem-Para.Downloads
