Abstract

This article is part of a dissertation titled "Sing to the Lord a new song": The Liberation Theology Influence in Brazilian Protestant Singing. The focus of it is the influence of this theology during the years of 1960, 1970 and 1980 in Brazilian protestant singing. According with this kind of musical work produced in Brazil, authors as João Dias de Araújo, Simei Monteiro, Jaci Maraschin and others are mentioned. This article has the intention to stimulate a reflection towards the poetry expression which has been neglected in the actual context of Brazilian protestant singing. We explain in relation to the text following that it refers to the second and the third chapter of the dissertation.
