Literature and society in Mozambique: brief overview historic

Abstract

The following article aims to present a brief historical overview of Mozambican literature, introducing specific and relevant issues on the theme to the general public, familiar with the literary studies or not. The exposition comes from the assumption that the dialectic between text and context is fundamental for analysis, specially regarding a literary work from Mozambique, whose turbulent history of colonial past and successive wars, directely influenced its culture and national society.
