This article deals with the origins and transformations of Latin-Mexican migration in North Carolina. It explains about the context within thereceiving region considering the historical relationship between white and blackpopulation during the last three decades of the twentieth century. The mainfocus is the analysis of actions and rhetoric by Latin and Asiatic migrantscoming from official sectors, local entrepreneurs and civil society organizations.Two topics were especially significant: the character of migratory law and otherregulations and the issue of social visibility of Latin migrants after the massiverallies of year 2000 in favor of migratory reform in United States. Thesemobilizations offer a deep explanation about the singularity of the process ofmigration in this area of the east coast of United States.Downloads
