Abstract

This article synthesizes some theoretical-methodological premises and the main conclusions of the research performed about the struggles of landless agriculturists in Rio Grande do Sul (1979-1988). It sustains the need of approaching the social movements by taking the class culture of the involved actors as a major dimension concerning the explanation.
