The article analyses the São Gonçalo´s dance, ritual of popular religiosity in São Paulo inland to understand the meaning (content) of the dance related with culture, from the materiality of this discourse; e.g., the body movement as sensible expression about this content. It makes use use of movement analysis (Laban) and Discourse Analysis to elaborate hipothesis about the materiality of the body in movement and the representation of sacred things.Downloads
