EMPTY AND PAIN, PATRIMONY AND REVANCHE: SOME CONSIDERATIONS ON URBAN HISTORY FROM ORAL NARRATIVES

Abstract

This article discourses about the problematic that involves the history and the inhabitants life style of the historical cities. The investigations focus is on the City of Goiás and how did it become a "cultural heritage city", their needs (inhabitants) through the years and their practice of preservation. In such a way, I interpret the inhabitants of Goiás oral narratives, people that are connected with Conde dos Arcos Museu (called in the past Palácio de Governo) and tourist travellers. Thus, I try to understand the daily movement in the historical city, the inhabitants feelings about the process, as well as the tourist impression about the location.
