This text aims to comment on the article of Pialoux and Beaud by bringing a testimonial insight to the context of the singular and long-lasting intellectual partnership in social sciences which, in turn, takes its inspiration for their working class ethnography from a third person, Pierre Bordieu. The latter provides them with tools of both support and contraposition. The text takes its source from a motive suggested by Pialoux and Beaud on a sort of "ethnographical turn" within French sociology of the nineties, in order to compare it to the precocious use of the early ethnographical work of Bourdieu in Brazilian anthropological studies of the peasantry and the working classes.Downloads
