This text is in the wake of the reflections on the possible links
between the problems of social inequality and educational inequality. It seeks to
place childhood at the epicenter of this debate, putting in scene the analytical
categories that construct childhood and the condition of inequality associated
with it: generation (diversity) and class (social inequality). In this sense, the
text, having as the locus a middle class school (Castle) and other impoverished
class (Favela) is challenged on the one hand, debate, pivotally, the generational aspects, such as the issues of otherness within the child-adult relations and, on the other hand, determinations of social class which, in turn, end up closer links between school and social inequalities. The provisional findings point to the fact that the condition of social inequality also plays in school, by structurally political, economic and educational factors also. Manifestations in children, especially those living in favelas which this dual condition (both generational as the class) social disadvantage evidenced tracks as they seek to circumvent the condition of no right to build alternatives to live their infantile condition in space school. Children react to conditions of oppression (body overwhelmed) by the expression of a trifling body and bearer of resistance and transgression. The text concludes by reiterating the need to put the scientific production in favor of a project committed to social transformation, in which the right to life is indeed of all peoples and in all ages.
