Abstract

This essay explores the symbolic axis of some of the major cosmogonic episodes in the Hebrew Bible, such as the gathering of the waters in the Creation account, the end of the Flood, the genesis of Israel in History, with the crossing the Sea of Reeds and Israel’s regeneration, with the return of the exiled jews to Zion.

Our point of departure and arrival is the Leitwort yabasháh, as it proposes an analytical trajectory that aims to elucidate both  the magnitude and the logical nexus of the Divine Plan for Israel.
