Abstract

This research treats G'd-world relationships in medieval theosophical Kabbalah, proposing to investigate the Kabbalah above all through metaphysics. As such, I investigate the world from the sufficient reason principle according to which there must exist an explanation for the world’s existence. In metaphysical terms, the metaphysical explanation goes back to efficient cause and to ontological grounding. In Kabbalah, the world’s cause matches to G’d in the form of Ein-Sof, in which He causes the world to be; the mode how He causes is through of a emanation process; and He causing Himself, the grounding of world is G’d too in the form of His Sefirot, in which He makes the world keep being. In the articulation of biblical mythology by cabalism, more than the Creation while the “go out” of world in G’d, the world is in the Exile too for sin of Adam and Eve; therefore, the cabalist speculated that it is necessary a “return”, that is the Redemption. My thesis, therefore, not only to describe G’d in the form, which He is transcendent, therefore is world’s cause, and, to same time, immanent, that's why is world’s grounding too, but assumes the jewish-mytical context of Kabbalah too to which away to bring the Redemption for this world is contemplating to G’d in the totality of His Being. In short, to assume G’d from Kabbalah implies to assume panentheism, because in the cabalistic tradition such theology is possible.
