Abstract

The collective imaginary is constructed through discursive practices that express conceptions that peoples have about their place in the universe, reinforcing our label system, more compatible with the past of “assumptions”, preconceived ideas, arbitrary imperatives of a social order of domination. It discusses the heritage of Jewish, Christian and Greek cultures in the formation of the discourse of the West, unilaterally cemented from the patriarchal point of view. Through critical analysis and interdisciplinary dialogue, we approach foundational concepts of Judaism that kept women away from study; aspects of medieval Christian misogyny that sustained the differentiation of the sexes for the benefit of men and the criticism of “Athenian democracy” for reserving a subordinate place for women in the decisions of public life, confining them to the gineceu and the male monopoly of language and knowledge production. It seeks to break with academic silence in relation to distorted images and stereotypes that weigh on the feminine. It is in language, place of interpretation, dialogue, interrogation, commentary, laughter, sacred disobedience, persistent webness, struggle and demand for blessing — place of metaphor — that woman awaits to be recognized as equal.

Author Biography

  • Edison Luís dos Santos, Universidade de São Paulo. Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas

    Researcher, librarian, film buff and student of cultures of oral tradition of African and indigenous origin, with an emphasis on the ancestral knowledge of masters of oral knowledge (Living Libraries). After completing a bachelor's degree in Linguistics (FFLCH/USP, 2003) and in Librarianship (ECA/USP, 2009), I focused on the Master's degree on the issue of the "colonial condition" and the role of cultural mediation in differentiated symbolic territories in the quilombola community from Cambury, Ubatuba-SP. In 2018, I defended my doctoral thesis: "Information paths in cultures of oral tradition: the enchanted sphere of living libraries". In 2022, I completed a Post-Doctorate at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA/USP), studying the anthropotechnical issue related to the phenomena of e-Culture and e-Art, in order to reflect on the contemporary reality of computational and digital cultures and production cultural (mediated or self-produced), in order to understand the new scenario in which the machine has already replaced human work and is on its way to replacing, through Artificial Intelligence (AI), intellectual work.
