Published for the first time in this issue of Revista Comunicação & Educação, Guillermo Orozco Gómez’s interview to Adilson Citelli and Wellington Nardes was carried out via e-mail and subjected to dialogic exchanges involving the interviewee and interviewers. Gómez elaborates a set of reflections that cross the theory and methodology of communication; communication and education; the place of technologies in our historical court; impacts of the pandemic on Mexican schools; present and future challenges to be faced by formal educational units. He also expressed the importance that the work of Jesus Martín-Barbero and Paulo Freire had for his theoretical maturation and the research he has been carrying out.
