The article's objective is to analyze the contribution of marxist thought and of the marxist tradition in the brazilian educational production that emerged during the second half the 70's, in the midst of a process of reatirculation of opposing forces. Its makes a contextualized account on the politicizing of the academy during the Country's redemocratization period, elaborating considerations on the marxist tradition in Brazil, on its influence, and on how it is currently used as a theoretical instrumental in education.
