Beth Carmona, TV Cultura's programming director, in São Paulo, in an exclusive interview to Comunicação & Educação, talks about the option the station has had to understand its educational function in a broad manner, selling itself as a public institution turned to forming the citizen culturally. This is the strength of the award winning programming it has for children and young people, and of its dedication to offering the adult public a varied and high level programming, ranging from courses and documentaries to journalism, sports, cinema, music programs, etc. Beth Carmona thinks the media may be yet another useful instrument in the teaching space, and that teachers are in need for help and guidance in order to use them in a more efficient manner in the classroom.
