Abstract

This interview with Eva Wilma deals with this actress' professional trajectory. Since the 50's, Eva Wilma has worked in the theatre, cinema and television. The actress worked alongside José Renato, founder of the Teatro de Arena; Cassiano Gabus Mendes, in Alô, doçura!, the first series for the Brazilian TV, aired by TV Tupi, which throughout the ten years it was on the air, became one of the precursors of our teledramaturgy. In the cinema, she was awarded many prizes for her performances in important work, such as in: Chico Viola não morreu, São Paulo S/A, Cidade ameaçada, among others. As an artist and as a citizen, she is well aware of the important role the means of mass communication have in the right to citizenship. In the article she talks about the need for open TV to face the challenge in the dispute for audience, improving the quality of the programming, an example of which is her new series, called Mulher (Woman) for the young and female public.
