The article shows Fundação Seade's centennial origins. Fundação Seade is the State of São Paulo's agency that is in charge of producing and analyzing socio-economic statistics on the state's territory. It describes the main research and the main concerns that the numbers deal with. It also contemplates the other information that composes the institution's collection and the relevance of this whole set of matters for several users, most especially public policy formulators and executors, academic researchers and other interested parties. Finally, the article indicates how and where Fundação Seade's data can be obtained.
