Abstract

This article is an effort to unsderstand the French policy of cultural heritage, a pioneer in the field of preservation and valorization of heritage in national memory, and that has undergone changes of tendencies and adaptations, mainly from the adoption, in the 1960s, of the general inventory of cultural heritage, based on a series of actions that have resulted in a progressive patrimonial sensitivity and a geographical extension of the phenomenon. Thus, we seek to perceive trends and challenges in this policy, presenting at the end some examples of recent actions.
