Abstract

In the stretch between Ponta Grossa and União da Vitória (city), located in the region of Campos Gerais/Mata de Araucária, it was constructed in the beginning of the twentieth century the São Paulo- Rio Grande railway. In that course, an infrastructure was implanted according to the level of the local's participation in the regional railway movement for passengers and loads transportation, what constituted in an important allied in the socioeconomic development and the promotion of several alterations in the space context in question. Thus, this work demonstrates the existent relationship between the rail arrangement and the space, in wich it inserts through its historical context analysing the main urbanistic and architectural concepts and brownfields formation.
