Abstract

In this paper we intend to make a few remarks on the historiography about the public policies for heritage preservation based on history meta-theory proposed by Rüsen (2001,
2010). Thereby, we try to understand how specifics orientation lacks faced by these authors, often directly linked to the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN), led to the production of a revealing history, but also includes some lapses for which we wish to shed some light. Furthermore, we will indicate alternatively a broader regard of various agents acting in this Institute.
