Roland Barthes, Raymond Picard, Literary criticismAbstract
The purpose of this essay is to map some territories of French literary criticism and show that, many times, these territories become real battlefields. Reconstructing the conflict between Roland Barthes and Raymond Picard helps us to think that criticism brings about a certain resistance, understood here from a double meaning: as an act of resisting and as an act of reacting. On the one hand, the critical discourse that wishes to preserve a continuity to be established between the works and their comments and, on the other, an attempt to reflect on the continuity between work and commentary.
