Abstract

This article aims to analyze the figures of racial representation present in the novel “O Quase Fim do Mundo” by the Angolan author Pepetela, focusing on the construction of the complex identities of the survivors of the attempted extermination. To do so, studies on the regime of racial representation (HALL, 2016) and the construction of the enemy (ECO, 2021) will be addressed to observe the inversion of stereotypes and the proposition of a new form of representation and humanity possible in this African dystopian future.
