MILITÂNCIA, REPRESSÃO E FORMA LITERÁRIA EM CAMINHO DE PEDRAS, DE RACHEL DE QUEIROZ, E OS SUBTERRÂNEOS DA LIBERDADE, DE JORGE AMADO

Abstract

This article aims to approach two novels: Rachel de Queiroz’s Caminho de Pedras (1937) and Jorge Amado’s Os Subterrâneos da Liberdade (1954) – especially the third volume, A Luz no Túnel. By linking formal aspects of both works to literary representation of political engagement versus state repression, it's possible to verify dilemmas in the novels structure, since the political content is privileged over the form. It reveals inner conflicts of the dissident organizations as well as its contradictions.
