Abstract

This paper investigates how the gap between subject, world and poet builds, in Manuel António Pina’s work, the concept of fault, which is linked to the notion of lack and the exercise of speech. From the observation of the triad fault/lack/speech, which passes through and supports the work of the poet, we come to another key idea – the noun “isto”, wich means "it” or “this" – and conclude that the emphasis of this poetry is much more in the relationship than in one specific significant.
