Abstract

Published in 1948, the collage novel A ampola miraculosa is the first experience made in Portugal with the working process praised by Max Ernst. The main characteristics of the book are the use of appropriated images, the association, often feeble, between them and the captions, the absence of a more solid thematic link and the search of a superrealist dimension associated to the sleep and dream mechanisms.
