Abstract

The text presents some reflections on the role of the scholar in human societies. In a more specific way, we try to verify what scholars can do in times of political crises such as the Brazilian society go through, for example. The key work for this text is Fichte’s The Fate of the Scholar, articulated with some historical considerations about the university and what the status of the scholar in its evolution.
