Abstract

The article proposes that certain conceptions by Deleuze and Guatarri relating to what we would provisionally call a “theory of desire”, such as is delineated in the Anti-Oedipus, should be read in the light of Spinoza’s theory of affects in the Ethics, in what is in effect a further step in the French author’s critique of psychoanalytical tradition.
